The Spring 2025 Report:
The Fine jewelry of DIOR is in two categories: The “Price upon Request” collections that are often shown in the Bi-Annual Antique Fair in specially built salons that are magnificently decorated with fixtures that display an array of jewelry that is eye popping. I had the pleasure of seeing these exhibits in 2012, 2014, both years were astonishing in their luxurious displays. DIOR was unique because it showed the world of DIOR in miniature. (*see my original photos below) and made the experience of gazing at the jewelry like peering into the windows of a magical dollhouse.
This window shows the petite “Maquette” that is the iconic suit designed by DIOR that has established the elegant silhouette that is still beautiful today.
THE HOUSE OF DIOR reflects the work of Maria Grazia Chiuri who recently moved back to FENDI to creative direct the women’s lines. Previously, her iconic handbag known as the “BAGUETTE” made fashion history there. Her modern jewelry that is more approachable in price takes “fashion jewelry” made of real materials to the next level. Also, note vintage DIOR jewelry has increased remarkably in value as well. I discovered a website of a British curator who is considered one of the experts in this field, Jennifer Gibson who has shown her curated collections around Europe in pop up shops. Of course, as a former Hollywood stylist *(I do it now only for long time clients) I was THAT girl rummaging in the bargain bin looking to see if something extraordinary had been overlooked and part of the fun for me is to find that “pre-ebay” item. But this takes oodles of time, so if you don’t mind paying a bit more this is the one-stop-shop for Vintage jewelry is Jennifer Gibson or head to the pinterest page(s) like this one to be inspired and to learn more about this category ( Vintage Couture jewelry. )
IN WITH THE NEW: Dior for Modern Times
If you don’t want vintage, but like shiny of-the-moment goodies, just head over to the DIOR FASHION WEBSITE to see Maria Grazia Chiuri’s collections. She has a distinctive luxury ‘point of view’ and note she was the first woman to take over DIOR as Creative Director. It has been a resounding success. Her jewelry designs have a chic without the fuss (that I prefer, almost like a sporty look) with precious materials. It makes the DIOR jewelry collection much more appealing (and yes) covetable.
DIOR SPRING HIGH JEWELRY COLLECTION - Extraordinary Couture Jewelry
The fine jewelry collection of 2025 inspired by nature’s own gemstone materials are combined with an inspiration of changing seasons in melodic combinations of plants, flowers and natural phenomenon.
Here is what the commentary states: (see link in Editor’s comments to view the slideshow) Jewelry designer is Victoire de Castellane
“Featuring a bold interplay of volumes and layers of gemstones – finely sculpted on mineral backgrounds hemmed with diamonds – the designs are like a series of extraordinary stories, magnificently portraying nature and its transformations. The jewelry thus evokes the passage of time following the rhythm of the seasons: the purity of winter, with its icy splendors flourishing in sumptuous finery; the effervescence of spring, transposed into the blossoming flora that punctuates certain ensembles; or the joy of sunny days, represented in the brilliance of the shimmering stones that adorn several scintillating sets”.
“An exquisite surprise, a necklace, ring and elegant earrings capture, in irresistible scenes, the magic of those fleeting moments where fantasy embrace reality”. The inspired by nature’s own materials, the gemstones, combined with a sense of seasonal passages. (CHRISTIAN DIOR)
Editor’s Note:
The slideshow on the website is beautifully presented in a runway show. This represents a huge leap from those first days when DIOR showed his jewelry on the models who were wearing his collections. So, it is clear the history of DIOR jewelry has expanded into a worldwide phenomenon that continues to delight everyone who enjoys a key chain to a bejeweled necklace.
